The project ‘Promessa Terra’ as part of the annual ‘FOTOGRAFIA – Festival Internazionale di Roma-XII edition.
‘Promessa Terra’ is a series of fifteen 40 cm x 50 cm black and white photographs (shot and printed with traditional analogue methods) that survey and deal with the concept of reality by radicalising the hypothesis of a possible future by taking direct inspiration from science fiction literature and genre filmography.
We traveled through the “tear of India” with the aim of photographing women working in tea plantations, once the basis of Sri Lanka’s economy, which is still an important element today. What really made us travel to that part of Asia is the search for what unites us as women and as photographers: the interest in meeting other women of different cultures.
“Between Fame and Neglect” is a collaboration between two Italian photographers, who inspired by the idea of recalling the image of the actress refer to main scenes of her films and explore this issue with two different visions.
The photographic series of “ Isole di Plastica”, it’s made of 9 images taken in 6×9 slide film. The project came from the need to show the social involution of children’s playgrounds inserted in a urban contexts.
